Jebala Bunny - Yellow with Red, Blue and Yellow Stripes
Moroccan Made Jebala Bunny
A sweet keepsake for little ones, the Jebala Bunny is part cuddly toy, part mini blanket—and made with a beautiful piece of Moroccan heritage.
Designed by Rachel Pearsey, this charming bunny features a soft, plush head and a flat, blanket-like body that is just right for little hands to hold, snuggle, and take along on adventures. The striped fabric on the front is made from a traditional hand-woven Jebala mendil from northern Morocco, giving every bunny a distinctive connection to the women and weaving traditions of the region.
Each Jebala Bunny is handmade by Moroccan women, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The purchase of every bunny supports Moroccan women in providing for themselves and their families through a sustainable social enterprise.
A little piece of Morocco
A mendil (pronounced mendeel) is a traditional hand-woven striped cloth worn by women in Morocco's mountainous Jebala region. Traditionally woven on a simple wooden loom called a mramma, mendils are known for their distinctive stripes and vibrant colors.
For generations, Jebala women have wrapped mendils around the waist as an over-skirt, used them to carry babies or bundles of goods, and worn them as protective wraps against the mountain sun and cold. The colors and patterns can even reflect a woman's village and marital status.
The Jebala Bunny transforms this meaningful traditional textile into something new—a soft, comforting companion for a new generation.
A thoughtful baby shower gift, birthday present, or special keepsake, the Jebala Bunny is more than a cuddly toy: it's a celebration of Moroccan craftsmanship, culture, and the women who keep these traditions alive.
